About Me
I have over 15 years of professional teaching and childcare experience, serving children and families in classrooms, after-school programs, and homes across the Bay Area.
Although I’ve worked with children from infancy through adolescence, I developed a particular fascination with early childhood in my eight years as a preschool teacher. During that time, I cared for hundreds of children as they moved from babbling to storytelling, toddling to sprinting, and impulsivity to…well, slightly less impulsivity. Supporting the enormous developmental leap that occurs between 18 months and 5 years requires a thoughtful balance of flexibility and firmness, energy and patience, and a genuine appreciation for fun.
After many years in the classroom, I am shifting my focus to supporting families at home. I appreciate the one-on-one nature of this work, which allows me to meet each child where they are and provide individualized care that reflects my values as an educator.
I hold a B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development from San Francisco State University and received graduate-level clinical training in reading assessment and intervention through CSU Sacramento’s Language & Literacy Program.
Additional skills include bilingualism (English and Spanish), musicality (my ukulele is my trusty sidekick), storytelling (with puppets!), and giving excellent hugs.
When I’m not spending time with small humans, you can find me birdwatching at Tilden Park, working on a jigsaw puzzle, baking extravagant desserts, or becoming overly invested in my latest Dungeons & Dragons campaign.
